Get ready to get your game on — Dave & Buster’s Balcones Heights is going to get a facelift.
The popular bar, arcade and restaurant is set to undergo significant renovations starting early next year, with work scheduled to begin in February, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Registration.
The $1.25 million project will involve interior upgrades and minor exterior changes. The renovation is expected to be completed by June 2026. Dave & Buster’s started a large-scale effort to revamp many of its older locations in 2023.
Located at 4400 Crossroads Blvd. near the Wonderland of the Americas shopping mall, Dave & Buster’s Balcones Heights first opened its doors in 1993. A second Dave & Buster’s location in San Antonio opened at Rivercenter Mall in 2016. Dave & Buster’s remains a popular tourism destination for both food and entertainment, featuring a full-service restaurant, bar and a game arcade.
The renovation will be carried out by Aria Group Architects, a design firm based in Oak Park, Illinois, according to the filing. The scope of work includes alterations to the interior, with some “minor facade work.”
Dave & Buster’s is headquartered in Coppell, Texas, and was founded in 1982 by James “Buster” Corley and Davis “Dave” Corriveau. The two men headed to “Restaurant Row” in Dallas where they launched their restaurant-arcade concept in an empty 40,000 square-foot warehouse.
Dave & Buster’s now boasts 170 locations across the U.S., Puerto Rico and Canada, many of which have been newly remodeled. The company also operates 61 Main Event locations in 22 states across the country, including two in San Antonio.
